Mails cloae for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations, :— MONDAY, AUGUST 19. For Northern Ports and Westport, per Mahinapua, at 12.30 p.m.; late fee letteis, 12.45 p.m.; guard's van, 1.25 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Wanaka, at 7.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 8 p.m.; guard's van, 9.5 p.m. train. TUESDAY, AUGUST 20. For Dunedin, per Waihora, at 11.10 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.20 a.m.; guard's Tan, 12.10 p.m. train. WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 21. For United Kingdom and Continent of Europe (specially addressed ''per Orient steamer only), and also for Australian colonies, per express (to connect with s.s. Mararoa at Port Chalmers), at 10.15 a.m.; late fee letters, 10.25 a.m.; guard's van, express train, 11 a.m. For South America, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe, per Penguin (to connect withßM. s.s. Arawa, at Wellington), and also for Northern ports of New Zealand, as follows : — Ordinary letters, at 7.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 8 p.m.; books and newspapers, 7.30 p.m.; registered letters and parcels, 5 p.m.; money orders, Ip.m.; guard's van, 9.5 p.m. train. This mail will be due in London on 3rd October, 1889.
