The ordinary monthly meeting of this Board was held on Thursday. PresentAll the members. Mr Coster in the chair. An account for work done by Morrii Brown was considered excessive. It was resolved that Brown send in an amended account, and that the Clerk measure the work. In reply to a letter from Mi Brimicombe, it was resolved that the Chairman see Mr Brimicombe. A petition was received from a number of ratepayers in the town, asking the Board to remove the watering trough to a more suitable position, and considered. It was resolved that the request be granted, and that tenders be invued for the erection of a concrete tank, to be placed on the other side of the road. It was resolved that tenders be invited for the replanting of trees in certain plantations where they have missed; also, that a macrocarpa fence be planted on the west and north sides of the Road Board office site. A petition wasreceived. from rate* payers, asking to have about 22J chains of Mainwaring's road ehingled. It was resolved that tenders be called foe the work. Mr Mulligan moved, and Mc Stringfellow seconded—" That the maintenance of roads be let for the ensuing year in three contracts, two below the railway line and one above it, one of the contracts to comprise the Boundary road; this contract to include the reformation of a portion of the road to Chertsey township." This was carried. It was resolved that the maintenance contractors be not allowed to do, other work without the sanction of the Board. It was resolved that Sheehan be paid 2a each for carting oat water-race bridges, and that Collins be paid the same price, and 10k per day for extra work, and 5a pcs day while cleaning out water pipes. Mi C. Dixen wrote, asking the Board to grant them a site for a Sunday school and chapel on Baker's road in the village settlement. It was resolved that the matter stand over till next meeting. The Clerk to ascertain what power the Board has to deal with the land. Mr Whitta wrote informing the Board that he has sold the property he held in Sooth Bakala road, aad asking to have his name taken off tne roll. Mr W.
