DAIRY PRODUCE

BUTTER MARKET UNSATISFACTORY. London, March 23. The position of the butter market continues to be unsatisfactory, chiefly on account of the continued heavy shipments from Australia and Now Zealand. The quantities afloat to the. United Kingdom from Australia New Zealand and the Argentine on March 21 were 699.000 boxes, which is 177,000 boxes more than at the corresponding period of 1928. Another depressing factor is the weakness of the Danish market, owing to the lade of demand from Germany. The consequence is that Danish supplies to England have heavily increased, and the official quotation was lowered this week by 25 kroner (ahrmt 275) per 100 kilograms (aivout 2241 b) and the present value in London is about 30/ per cwt. lower than a year ago.
