HIGH SCHOOL STATIONERY.
To the Editor. g lßj _Can you inform me why tenders ar e not called for the supply of stationery, by the High School Committee ? I nnderstaud this item has been handed over to Mr R. Robertson, of Bon Accord, and tbiß teems to mo to be hardly fair to the rest 0 { the tradesmen. Tenders are called for the coal aupply aud all other things pertaintof? to the school ; then why is this not done in the same way ? Is it influence, or what is i fc ? We have a respeotabJe, hardworking young man in the township w k o i« struggling to support a widowed mother ; why not give him a show to piok up a few of the orumbs? No doubt Mr Robertson reasonably and faithfully does this business, but I venture to say he does not do it without profit. This beiog so, let BV eryone in that line of bußinesß compete, »nd by calling for tenders matters would appear more above board.— l am, &3., Householder. Milton, 29th April, 1897.
