NATURE IN LIVELY MOOD.
Of the landslip in Queensland the correspondent of the 'Argus' writes— It was reported a few days ago that a severe earthquake had occurred at Minden, in the West Moreton district, but from further information there appears little doubt thai the disturbance was caused by a huge landslip. Minden is a small township, about seven miles from Rosewood, and about six miles from Marburg, but divided from the latter by a range of hills, of which Tallegalla Hill is one. The shock and noise aeemed.to travel from the main range under Tellegalla mountain, and on towards Tarsmitda. Houses shook, and inhabitants were terrified out of their wits with tlie noise and rush of waters. There was a large hill which slipped bodily into the creek by which it was surrounded with a roaring sound like that of an earthquake. Where the hill stood is now a sheet of water, and five or six farms are nob recognisable, high land being now low and VIGS
