THE JERSEY LILY.

A nice little story about Lily Langtry is, that the cause of Ereddy Gobhard's sudden disappearance, when he cut-stick for Europe just after the loss of his horses by a rail road accident, was that he was jealous of the Lily's leading man, and that he fancied that he hugged her more than the requirements of the play demanded in " The lady of Lyons," and that the Lily ap* peared to like it, T^ e upshot was a terrible row. Freddy said that he'd he-r=-blessed if he'd stand it; and the Lily who has a temper of her own when her blood ia up, told him to go to Jericho, and she would start for Halifax. When the Lily found that Freddy" was really, gonej -they had to send for. a V. doctor at once; he prescribed soothing medicine and change of air. She got all ready to go to California, whenheypresto,^ fly ! she abandons her Long Branch' cottage for which she had paid four thousand dollars in advance, and off she starts for Europe. She can now be. seen every day driving > with Freddy on Rotten Bow- or Hyde Park. It is said that, everything is arranged for the .divorce from Mr Langtry ; he assenting to the divorce on the ground of nonsupport, and receiving in return several valuable pieces of property in New York and a nice dot of ready cash. Immediately on the decree iof divorce being, granted it is understood that the Lily will become legally Mrs Gerhard, and the Question is not yet decided as to whether she will abandon 'the stage or not. ;As there. can be.no admission for either of them into New York society, it is probable that they will seek the seclusion of her Calif ornian estate, and there, like two turtle doves, they may possibly realise that Arcadian bliss that we frequently read about in story books, but seldom see. -<
