London, Nov. 20. ■ The demand of the ironworkers in the north of England for an advance of ten per cent has been submitted to arbitration. Mr Gladstone, speaking on the Government proposal for an extension of Lord Ashbourne's Act, said the arrears of tenants were primarily entitled to attention, Mr Goschen said the Opposition had rejected the Government -overtures for the temporary extension of the Act mentioned. The Government did not consider they were pledged to deal with the land purchase question, and were quite satisfied with an extension of Lord Ashbourne's Aot.
