Notwithstanding ' that she stood 40 feet out of the water, . eOmo of the seas swept over her, and a: . large gangway was torn from its chains and^carried away. At length she : was got to windward, and the coiirse was directed to the Irish coast ; bntthe gale moderated, and on Eriday- morning the Stormcock (which had r kept near) resumed the ;towing M ; the ship,' which reached the l?ar of the Mersey at five o'clock on 1 Friday evening.
