ACCIDENTS.
- ■ ■■» - •• — - •■< - _ •. AUCKLANB, Oct. 17. A boy named Augustine Murphy, 5£ years of age, was killed this evening at the railway siding near Mount Eden goal. The unfortunate little fellow, was with his two brothers and other boys playing with an empty truck, pushing it backwards and fo wards along the line. Tho deceased fell in front of the wheels and the truck passed over him, horribly mangling him. Death was instantaneous. , Mrs Burns, a passenger by today's Kaipara train, alighted from the carriage whilst it was in motion;. She was caught by her dress and was dragged under the car. Both of her legs were crushed and had to be amputated. A lad of eight years named Henry M'Laren was accidentally drowned from a punt in the Raihu creek, Dargaville, on Monday last. Wellington,. Oct. 17. A boy named William Sayers fell out of a boat on the Hutt river yesterday afternoon, and was drowned.
