MAKOTUKU, -
<*■ A meeting of residents of Makotuku favorable' to the formation, of a night school was held last evening (Monday) at Mr Gasson's Beaconsfield Hotel, Mr Towers in the chair. It was resolved on the motion of JVIr Gasson, seconded by. Mr G. H. Robinson- That the following be a committee to canvass the district, for pupils to see what support the night school would receive, and to report to a meeting to be held at' the same place on Friday evening* nekt \ * Messrs Towers, ■ Forward, W. Robinson, J. Brabazon, N«ilson, -Gasson, Hall,; and G. H. Robinson. It was suggested that the night school be held in the Hall, or. if possible, in the Library room, and Mi Gasson kindly oflered to give the Hall free for that purpose. Mr Fergusson agreed to undertake the proposed classes if the movement were fairly supported. The classes will be quite elementary.. Intending pupils should send in their names to one of the'Tcommittee without 'delay, i A meeting will be held on Friday evening next at the same time and place rs the Horticultural Society meeting.
