— ♦:' ■• ""-•■••••' 5 -' r - I A man named John Hall, work- % ing on the railway hear Numurkah, 1 J Victoria, met with a horrible fate. i He was seen going into his tent on • Saturday night somewhat under the j influence of liquor. .On Sunday | morning it was seen that a fire had ] occurred during the night, and the ■ y remains of the unfortunate man, J-j frightfully charred, ; were j found among the debris. His * feet and | hands were burnt off, and some ' ■ '] silver was found' embedded in the ' £ burnt flesh of the unfortunate man's | hip. The face was totally unrecog- J nisable, and the body was badly roasted. It is thought that deceased , \| forgot to extinguish the : candle, . I which set fire to.the bedclothes, and J being the worse for liquor he perished before awakening. i
