THE CONTRIBUTOR.
" Viator " sends us some lines from Makotuku which will be found below. Mr Webb writes a letter about the hen and egg puzzle. It looks easy enough, but all the same we must sorrowfully inform Mr Webb his answer is wrong. Since the editorial eye lighted upon that unhappy problem in the columns of the Wellington Press, the editorial hair has paled visibly. We have tried in vain to get round that puzzle and yet it is very simple, at least the Press says so. If anybody has got six good hens guaranteed to lay an egg and a half in a day and a half, please oblige by sending them round to the office and then we'll tell you how many eggs they lay in seven days. R.C.G., Ormondville, also sends us tke same answer as Mr Webb.
