LATEST NEWS. DISCOVERY OF SILVER.
(By Telegraph.) Nelson, May ill*; There is considerable excitement at the Owen respecting a silver lode discovered there, and eight claims of 30 acres each have been pegged off by ten different parties. The claims extend foi one mile : from the left hand branch'of the Owen river through the limestone country towards the xnquntain,. and Wangapeka. The lode is said to be 3ft thick, and the ore is reported to be rich. '*'"..**'■-
