On and after MONDAY, July 27. 1942. every person (except as mentioned hereunder) desirous of travelling by rail Xor any distance exceeding 100 miles in the North Island will be required to satisfy the Stationmaster that his or her journey is necessary for business reasons or other essential purposes. Passengers intending to join trains at flag stations will require to make prior application to the nearest Stationmaster for a permit. Permits will not be required in the following cases:— (1) For holders of annual or season tickets (not Tourist Excursion tickets) Xor distances exceeding 100 miles.
