PEOPLE'S MOVEMENT.
MEETING IN WELLINGTON,
(P.'A.) WELLINGTON, this day. Speakers representing the People's Movement addressed an attendance of 1200 people in the Wellington Town Hall last night. They outlined the policy of the movement, stressing the need to bring an end to party Government in New Zealand and its replacement by a Government that would legislate for all sections of the community. The speakers were Mr. E. R. Toop, Dominion president, Mr. A. E. Davy, Dominion secretary, Mr. W. H. Fortune (Auckland) and Captain S. Fricklwtoii, VjCJ
Approval of the main planks of the policy of the movement was signified with some dissentients. A motion passed included endorsement of unification proposals and a request to the National party and other organisations to join the movement in giving effect to them. Mr. Toop announced that the first plank wae aa all-in war effort.
