FORAGE CAPS.
FOR TERRITORIALS.
PEAKED HATS AT PREMIUM.
Owing to a shortage of felt and the consequent inability to manufacture the familiar peaked hats with which New Territorials have in the past been equipped, new drafts are fitted with the khaki forage cap which hitherto has been common to overseas troops.
Reservists who have been posted to the First Battalion, Auckland Regiment, and who will start their training early next month, paraded at the Drill Hall, Rutland Street, to-day, to draw equipment, and were issued with the new eaps. Owing to the fact that these give little protection to the back of the neck from the sun, it ia likely that the troops will be issued later with handkerchiefs to affix to the back of the cap.
