"WENT TO PIECES."
BAND AT PAPAKURA.
COMMENT BY COUNCIL.
"It started with a flourish, then it went to pieces," said the town clerk, Mr. A. L. Cooler, at last night's meeting of the Papakura Borough Council, in reply to a request for information as to the whereabouts of the instruments belonging to the now defunct brass band. Some instruments were missing and some damaged, but what were left were in the eiastody of the council, he added. The big drum had been loaned, but the rest of the brass wanted a lot of touching up. Three speakers showed their appreciation of the band's disappearance. **I hope no one wants to start another band here," said the speaker.
