CENTENNIAL FUND.
SURPLUS AT WHANGABEI. WHAXGAREI, this day. After all outgoings have been met the Xorthland zone centennial activities have resulted in a surplus of approximately £100. Receipts at £449 excsded expenditure by £385, the ti ..surer's statement revealed. Allowing a sale realisation of £180 lor property, the ~ost price of which had been over iM.jO, assets were valued at £5G9 19/3. Total liabilities were shown at £478 10/, comprised chiefly of refunds due to Whangaroa sub-zone and the Whangarei sub-zone. These two sub-zones paid in full on the basis of the original levy in order to enable the zone to meet its financial obligations to the Centennial Exhibition Company. It was decided to donate the surplus, if any, after sale of the assets, to the patriotic funds. The Auditor-General is to be asked to make a member of the Government staff available for the audit of the accounts.
