GIFT TO SCOUTS.
PUTARURU SECTION. GOLF CLUB PRESENTATION. The Putaruru troop of boy scouts has received a big Impetus by a generous and unexpected gift of a piece of land by Mr. (.'. C. Neal. The committee has expressed its appreciation, and intends working out a scheme for the erection a hall. All adjacent towns have had scout halls for some years.
The presentation of a pipe and leather toliacco pouch was made by the Okoroire Golf Club to Major G. Wilding prior to his departure for camp. The presentation was made by the president, Mr. F. J. R, Goodwin, who said that Major Wilding would carry with him the good wisires of many friends.
Mr. F. E. McKenzie, Auckland Acclimatisation Society, Mr. and Mrs. Hardy, Mr. Allan Pye, and Messrs. T. S. Withers and Davidson in different parties have been staying at the Putaruru Hotel, a«. headquarters for fishing in the Putaruru district.
