DENTAL CLINIC.
OPENED AT NEWMARKET.
SERVE SCHOOLS OF DISTRICT.
Built to cater for the needs of children of the district, a new dental clinic was opened at the Newmarket School yesterday afternoon by the Mayor of Newmarket, Mr. S. Donaldson. The occasion marked the end of a campaign begun in April, 1938, when a meeting of householders was called under the chairmanship of Mr. E. F. Andrews, with Mr. F. E. G. Arndt as secretary.
Thanks were expressed at the ceremony to the Newmarket Borough Council and to parents, who contributed generously toward the quota of £155 necessary to gain a Government subsidy for the project. The clinic will provide for children of the Newmarket Primary School, St. Michael's Convent, Remuera, and St. John's Convent, Parnell.
