ATTITUDE TO WAR.
CLEKOTMAM AND BISHOP. (From Our Correspondent.) CAMBRIDGE, Saturday. A reply to criticism by the Bishop of Dunedin,* the Rt. Rev. W. A. Fitchett, of his remarks when speaking at Hamilton on the subject of "You and Your Attitude to a Future War" wae made by the Jlcv. C. W. Chandler, v'car of St. Andrew's Church. In hie speech Mr, Ghandier said he refused to take up arms against a man of any other nation with whom he had no quarrel, and do ihe dirty work for someone who would gain by it. Mr. Chandler said the bishop's criticism of his remarks had been published in almost every paper in New Zealand. He felt that the attitude adopted by the bishop wae most detrimental to the people of the world. - Regarding the bishop's reference tithe last three of the 39 article* of religion, to which the clergy of the Church of England are asked to subscribe, I would refer hie Lordship to Bernard ShawVi scathing continent on these three articles in hie preface to 'Major Barbara,'" added Mr. -Chandler.
