SALE OF MONIPERE. WESTS FOR NEW OWNER. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") DUNEDIN, Thursday. At a sale of thoroughbreds at Wingatui last Monday Monipere was purchased by Mr. J. A. Smaill for 205g«*. and within five hours won the Provincial Handicap at Wingatui for his new owner, the latter's share being £210. TWO RIDERS SUSPENDED. The Australian riders A. Reed and T. Meagher were suspended from riding in races for one month by the stewards at Willinmstown last week. Reed, on Stevenage, was found to have crossed Diablotc too sharply entering the straight in the first division of the Beach Welter; and Meagher, rider of Barham, was suspended for having forced leonium on to Winoobra. causing both to lose ground near the halfmile in the second division.
