OLD RESIDENT.
DEATH OF MR. R. SALTER
The death occurred this morning at his residence. Argyle Street, Heine Bay. of Mr. Robert Salter, in his S."ith year. Born at Liverpool in 185:!. Mr. Salter was apprenticed to the sea. serving in ships of the Liverpool White Star line. He arrived in Melbourne in the ship Alice Piatt in 1875), and was transferred there to the Ringarooma and came to New Zealand, leaving the ship at. Auckland. He served on the New Zealand coast for many years with the Northern Steam Ship Company, and afterwardtook up commercial pursuits in Auckland. Mr. Salter retired about 20 years ago. He leaves a widow, four children. Messrs. Richard, Leslie and Charles Salter, and Miss Alma Salter, all of Auckland, four grandchildren and (wo great-grandchildren. The interment will take place at Pnrewa cemetery to-mor-row afternoon.
