QUICK RENTING.
HOUSE ADVERTISE© IN "STAR," So acute is "the house shortage in Auckland at the present time that as soon as a house is advertised as vacant, it is let. A house in the suburbs was recently advertised to"let in the "Star." A keen house hunter bought a first edition of the paper, and before the main edition of the "Star" had reached tlie suburb concerned,'--tlie house had been let by telephone and the rent paid in advance. Although the house had been let, the agent was besieged with inquiries and he received close on 100 telephone and personal calls at ' his office. One member of the house agent's staff was kept busy from the time the "Star" was on the streets until the office closed.
