WEATHER FORECAST.
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following ■special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to as far south as Tauranga, Kawliia and Hamilton:— Strong north-easterly winds, reaching gale force in places, with the weather dull and misty or foggy and with general rain and some heavy falls; temperatures mild; seas rough on the east coast, and moderate but rising somewhat on the west. An intense anti-cyclone is still located to the east of the Dominion, but a depression is centred between Norfolk Island and Cape Maria Van Diemen and is moving southwards. A fresh depression has reached southeastern Australia. For the Dominion. The indications are for moderate to strong north-easterly winds, freshening to gale in places. Expect dull weather wit!) much mist and fog in parts; rain probable. The barometer has a falling tendency. Seas rough. Hauraki Gulf Conditions. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day: — Wind, east-north-east, fresh; sea, rough; weather, cloudy, with passing showers; visibility, fair; barometer, steady.
