JUNIOR MANAGEMENT. ; LOWER GRADE SUCCESSES. At the meeting of the junior management committee of the Auckland Rugby League last evening, Mr. D. Wilkie presiding; the City Club was congratulated upon its success in the fourth and sixth grade knockout finals, and Richmond on winning the sixth grade championship. Reporting on the trip of the Ponsonby fourth grade team to Ngaruawahia, where they were beaten, o—14, Mr. R. W. Carlaw said the visit was a pleasurable success. Hanlen reported upon the visit of the Mount Albert second grade team to Whangarei, where it was beaten 8—27 by the Kamo seniors. In reply to a suggestion from a club that the cautioning of a player was not justified as the referee had been reprimanded, it was decided to advise that the referee, after ordering off the player for striking another player, had merely pointed out in his report that the offence was not serious. Otaliuhu seventh grade match, in the match being awarded to Point Chevalier, as it was considered the latter club had properly attempted to •fulfill registration requirements. A seventh grade, player, ordered off, was suspended until he appears. _ Favourable reports were given on the Ellerslie-City fourth knockout final, won by City, 11—9, and on Ponsonby-Ellerslie third grade game, won by Ellerslie 11—10, in the first of the three matches for the 'championship. i . , In the event of City meeting Richmond in'the seventh grade knockout final, it 'will decide the fate of the Walnisley ■IPeints Shield.
