APPEAL FOR FINANCE. PAYMENTS BY LOCAL BODIES. A* further appeal to local bodies in tie Auckland, area who have 60 far declined to contribute to the cost of the proposed Waitakere Drive is to be made following a meeting of representatives of various local bodies held at the Town Hall yesterday. The deputy-Mayor, the Hon. B. Martin, M.L.C., presided. A sub-committee consisting of the Mayors of Mount Eden, Onehunga and Newmarket, Messrs. T. McNab, J. Pafk and S. Donaldson, was appointed to wait on the bodies which had not contributed and explain altered circumstances since the first request was made. A draft clause for special legislation for the raising of the mor.ey was presented at yesterday's meeting.
