FARM HOUSEKEEPERS.
WOMEN'S DIVISION WORK. Speaking ,a,t a Women's Division festival last evening at Clevedon, Mrs. Noel Adams gave some of the reasons for holding tlieir various public gatherings. ' Mrs. Adame said that finance ,was badly neejpd to carry on their work of helping the farmer and his wife. -For this purpose they had secured trained and dependable women to act as housekeeper. These housekeepers were sent to homes where the mothers had to go into hospital for operations, etc. These mothers went more contentedly when they knew their loved ones were being taken care of by a capable woman. Mrs. Adams added that the Waitemata group with which, they were connected, had seven housekeepers, and they were paid 30/ a week, so .it was a strain on the community chest of the group to keep things going.. The group was responsible for, 15 per cent, and the local division fpr' the balance. "Of course," concluded the speaker, "if the farmer is able, he must pay his -Share. From all quarters comes' high praise for the scheme, and it| is meeting a real need on the farm."
