ADMONITION FROM BENCH. (From Our Own Correspondent.) RAETIHI, Tuesday. Mr. R. M. Watson, S.M., who was formerly on the Waimarino Magistrate's Court circuit, and who was relieved by Mr. J". G. L. Hewitt, S.M., during his appointment to the Samoan magistracy, presided at the Raetihi sitting of the Magistrate's Court to-day. During the ..examination of a judgment debtor, W. R. Loveridge, of Pokaka, in respect of- a sum of £17 19/1 d'ue to the Raetihi Co-operative , Dairy Com- . pany, in whose favour judgment by default was entered in 1933, the magistrate asked the defendant what his earnings were for the past three years. "Not enough to live on," responded the defendant. The Magistrate: That's- no answer. A man on £1500 a year sometimes finds it insufficient to live l on. After hearings the evidence, the magistrate refused to make an order, but told defendant that although no order had been made, it did not mean that the amount was not owed by defendant.
