Britain Advises Argentina Regarding Trade Pact. REVISING AGREEMENT? British Official Wireless. (Received 11.30 a.m.)

The trade agreement of 1933 between Britain and Argentina was concluded for an initial period of three years, and oil May 7, 1930, the agreement became subject to termination at any time after November 7, on tlie expiration of six months' notice. In April, however, nego-c tiations for a revision of the agreement were undertaken, and in these circumstances the two Governments agreed to reduce the period of notice, first to four months, and subsequently to three months. The negotiations have not been brought to a conclusion yet, and the British Government now has given notice to termiiiate the existing agreement on November 7. The fortnightly British trade summary states that Britain's notice to terminate the Argentine agreement on August 7 does not imply that negotiations have reached a deadlock. Mr. Cecil Tescliemaker, of New Zealand, who is 011 one of his periodic journeys between the Dominion and Argentina, is spending a month in Sydney visiting his sister, Lady Murray Anderson, wife rf the Governor of Xew South Wales. Discussing the chilled beef industry, Mr. Tescliemaker to-day said he thought that for some years Australia would experience difficulty in producing in sufficient numbers the type of cattle required for that trade.
