HARRIER RACING.
AUCKLAND BAPTISTS. The Baptist Club held its annual interward teams' race for the Smeeton Cup, presented bv the Bible Class Union. The Bible classes of Auckland are divided into five grades, four of which entered teams. Individual results were as follow: — S. Edgar 1 P. Kendon - V. Knight 7 T. Turley 4 Teams' Results. —D ward, first, S. Edgar (1), V. Knight (3), K. Tonson (6). F. Furnesg (7). A ward, second, B ward third, C ward fourth. The winners are from Mount Albert and Sandringham Churches. WESLEY GLUB. The "Wesley Harrier Club had n club run from the Avondale Methodist Church. The 26 members were divided into two packs, the intermediate running with the fll The"las't of the series of handicap runsin over a distance of 440 yds, for the last and intermediate packs, and a 220 yds run-in for the slow pack were held at the conclusion of the run. Results:— Slow Pack. —L. Scriven 1, J. Jarrett A A. Maginness 3, E. Pain 4. Intermediate Pack. —C. Moore 1, P. Crump 2, J. Sylvester 3, D. Christopher 4, N. Grocott 5. L. Dew 6. Fast Pact.—R. J. Skyrme 1, A. W. Collings 2, A. P. Graham 3, P- H. Stewart 4, J. C. Spooner 5. CALLIOPE CLUB. On Saturday afternoon the Calliope Harrier Club held an eight miles run from the Northcote Methodist Hall, the course consisting of road as far. as the V* aitemata Power station, then branching on to country for about one mile, coming back round the Catholic Orphanage, and the Waimana Estate. In the slow pack, under the leadership of Roy Drummond, of the 11 members, Ward was showing good form, while Sharpe, Dickson, Turner and Hardman packed well. The fast pack, Norman Ambler and Norman Shorter ran fast, while Bob Wallace, Len Lanigan and Auburn Rogers packed well. A feature of this pack was the excellent team work shown throughout the run. Result of short run-in.—Slow pack: Ward 1, Drummond 2, Steele 3. The fast pack did not hold a run-in, but Norman Ambler was first home, Norman Shorter second, Bob Wallace third. The A team chosen to represent the club next Saturday in the Auckland provincial championships, in order :—W. Clapham, A. E. Clow, N. R. Shorter, W. Cliarman, A. Rogers, L. Lanigan. Usliakoff and Ward will run as individuals. UNIVERSITY CLUB. The 'Varsity Club held an enjoyable run on Saturday from tlie Mount Roskill School, Three Kings. About twenty members were present, and three packs—slow, medium and fast —were formed. In the weekly sprint held for the Kolin Cup results were as follow: Maxwell (scr) 1, Cox (3j'ds) 2, Tyrie (scr) 3, Kay (8 yards) 4, Tyson (3yds) 5, Mackenzie (3 yards) 6.
