WEATHER FORECAST.

FOR CITY AND PROVINCE,

The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to as far south as Tauranga, Kawhia and Hamilton: — Moderate to strong northerly winds, backing shortly to westerlies. Weather changeable and squally, with occasional rain. Temperatures mild. Seas rather rough to rough on the west coast and slight to moderate on the east coast. A series of rather intense westerly depressions continues to cross the southern portion of the Dominion. For the Dominion. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day. — The indications are for moderate to strong northerlies; shortly backing to west. The weather will probably prove squally and changeable; occasional rain probable; and mild. Barometer unsteady. Seas smooth to moderate. Hauraki Gulf Conditions. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day:— Wind, north, moderate; sea, smooth; weather, cloudy but fine; visibility, good; barometer, steady.
