MAIN TRUNK CLEAR.

OTHER LINES BLOCKED. BRIDGES DELAX RESUMPTION. The Limited was slightly late this morning, owing to the fact that the train from New Plymouth did not connect on time at Marton. The transferring of passengers at the damaged bridge between Karioi and Tangawai is no longer necessary. In tiie North, however, trains to-day were able to proceed only as far asWhakapara, and there still remained large areas of soft track where reduced speeds were necessary. The WhakaparaOtiria line will probably remain closed for the next ten days. Passengers who wished to proceed past Whakapara to-day were forced to resort to motor services. It is expected that the line will bo free of blockades as far as Towai tomorrow, but after that.further progress is indefinite, owing to a number of damaged bridges. The Kirikopuni line is still blocked by serious wash-outs.
