ON 'CHANGE.
WEEK OPENS QUIETLY. BANK OF N.Z. IN DEMAND. A fresh week opened quietly on 'Change, nnd only three sales were recorded at the first call. There was a fair demand in the hanking section, and New Zealands were asked lor at £2 10/9, with sellers standing out for £2 11/6, The ct*l section again attracted attention, arid after another sale at £1 4/ sellers of i'ukemiro raised their reserves to 25/. Northern Eoller Mill shares were wanted, with £1 10/ offered for the ordinaries and £1 2/6 for the preferences. Both the gilt-edges and the mining .sections were steady at the week-end quotations. Business Brightens Up. Business became active during the morning, and a good list of sales was reported at noon. There was a further rise in Government bonds, and City of Auckland 5Vs per cent debentures made a substantial advance in the first sale for some time. Values generally were linn, with a good demand.
