Mr. J. W. Bailey left by the Limited express last night for Taranaki. . Mr. G. H. West leaves by the Limited express this evening for Wellington. Mr. W. A. Boucher leaves by the Limited express for ■ Wellington this evening. Dr. W. S. Brockway leaves for Wellington by the Limited express this evening. Mr. M. J. Moodabe left last evening by the Limited exprese, en route for Christchurcli. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Brooksbanks left by the Monterey on Saturday, en route for England. Mr. F. W. Aickin, railway law officer, left by the Limited express laet evening for tlie South. Mr. R. Laidlaw, sen., returned to Auckland by the Monterey after attending a Christian conference in Sydney. Mr. F. J. Ansell, Auckland manager for Williamson Picture Corporation, Ltd., returned from Wellington this morning after a business visit. The Rev. H. K. Archdall, headmaster of King'e College, left last night for Wellington to attend the annual conference of the Association of the Heads of Registered Secondary Schools. Colonel J. E. Duigan, Major P. H. Bell, Major R. Miles and Major G. T. Gillespie, of the Northern Command, left by the three o'clock train this afternoon for Wellington on Defence business. Mr. C. R. Chisman, organising director of the Empire loan collection, left Dunedin on Thursday for Christchurcli. From that city he will go to Wellington and Wanganui, and he will sail from Auckland on May 11. - Mr. C. K. Howard, general manager of General Motors Export Company of New York, returned by the Monterey on Saturday after a business visit to Australia and Xew Zealand. He was accompanied by Mrs. Howard. Sir Thomas Bilbe-Robinson, of London, a director of the Xew Zealand Shipping Company, arrived by the Monterey on Saturday on a brief visit to Xew Zealand. He is accompanied by Lady Bilbo-Robinson. They are at the Grand Hotel with their son, Mr. A. BilbeRobinson, of Wellington. Mr. F. 11. I'errin, manager in India of the Xew Zealand Insurance Company, Ltd., arrived by the Monterey on Saturday for a brief holiday in Xew Zealand. He is accompanied b\' Mrs. Perrin. They will spend a short time in Australia before returning to India. They are at the Station Hotel. Dr. J. S. Watt, a 1931 Xew Zealand Rhodes Scholar, left for Palmer3ton North by the Limited express la?t night, to take up a position as lecturer in soil chemistry at Massey Agricultural College. Dr. Watt was for three years at Oxford University, where he gained the degree of doctor of philosophy. In 192.0 he graduated B.Sc. at the Auckland University College, and the following year M.Sc.
