HARBOUR BRIDGE BILL.

DRAFT BEFORE THE BOARD. REFERRED TO COMMITTEE. A draft of the Auckland Harbour Bridge Bill was before the Auckland Harbour Board yesterday afternoon and was referred to the finance committee for a report to the board in committee. The Harbour Bridge Company urged the board, in a letter, to treat the bill as urgent. Mr. M. H. Wynyard, chairman, said the company had asked that the board hold a special meeting immediately. He considered, however, that the other local bodies interested should be given an opportunity to meet first and that it was unwise to rush the matter unduly. Mr. J. B. Johnston: We should not be stampeded into any decision. Mr. T. Bloodworth: It would be as well if the loreil bodies could meet together to discuss the bill. The meeting decided that the bill be discussed in committee in the presen°e of the board's legal advisers as soon as a report had been prepared by the finance committee.
