CHRISTOHURCH, Tuesday.

The Riecarton tracks presented a quiet appearance this morning, in marked contrast with the conditions ruling last week. Most of the horses who competed at the Grand National meeting arc on the easy list at present, but their trainers will be starting on them again shortly with a view to engagements o«r the spring circuit. The outside of the course proper was open for fast work this morning, but the work was not of a serious nature. A few horses were sent on the grass, but most of them were restricted to short sprints without being unduly bustled.
