OBITUARY.
MR. T. E. BREWER. WELL KNOWN ENGINEER. Mr. Thomas Edmund Brewer, whose death took place oil March 8 at the residence of hits eon, Mr. S. Brewer, Grey Lynn, aged 78 years, came to Auckland in 1884 as chief engineer of the Northern Steam Ship Company's steamer Clansman on tlie maiden voyage of that vessel from England. Pie remained in the service of the Northern Company for 20 years, and later was engineer at the Electric Power Board station in liobson Street. Mr. Brewer is survived by the following children: Mr. P. Brewer, of Stanley Point, Mr. S. Brewer, Miss A. Brewer, of Ramarama, and Mrs. R. Mounsey, of Green Lane. MRS. lIONORA O'BRIEN. AGED NINETY YEARS. At the advanced age of 90 years Mrs. Honora O'Brien died recently at Westport. She was the widow of Mr. Michael Finnesey' O'Brien, and was born in County Cork, Ireland. She went to Melbourne in 1862, and was married two years later to Mr. O'Brien. The couple were on the Bendigo and Ballarat diggings and later had a store at Brighton, where Mr. O'Brien died 20 years ago. Mrs. O'Brien came to live with her daughter, Mrs. McGrath, of Westport. The following children survive: Mrs. Bladen, of Western Australia, Mrs. Senior, of Karamea, Mrs. Mackie, of Auckland, and Mrs. McGrath, of Westport. and#Mr. T. Q. O'Brien, of Napier, Mr. B. O'Brien,' of Auckland, Mr. Joseph O'Brien, of Huntly, and Mr. Dennis O'Brien, of Westport. MR. FRED ASHER. The death took place suddenly on Sunday of Mr. Fred Asher at his home, Ngapuhi Road, Remuera, at the age of 58 years. Deceased is survived by his wife and daughter. The death was reported to the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., but as a medical certificate was furnished as to the cause he decided an inquest was not necessary. Saturday is last day of Fowlds' sale.
