AUCKLAND SHAREMARKET.

TRANSACTIONS ON 'CHANGE. BUSINESS STILL QUIET. SALE OF MOANATAIARIS. Business on the local Stock Exchange continues dull, and only a few transactions have been finalised since the noon call yesterday. There have been few alterations in values, but bidding has been perfunctory. Commercial Banks had a couple of sales yesterday at a penny advance to £1 1/11 (one reported this morning), but at the 10 o'clock call there were sellers at £1 1/10, with £1 1/7 the best offer. New Zealand Nationals were easier, the highest bid being at £5 15/. Howard Smith's were offered at 18/6, and Mount Lyells, after a sale yesterday at £1 12/, recovered a fraction with buyers at £1 12/1,. and the lowest seller £1 13/6. Renewed interest was shown in Moanataiaris, which sold this morning at 2/3 for the fully paid, with more wanted at the same price. The Noon Call. A few additional sales were recorded at the noon call on the basis of late quotations. There was a good inquiry for banks, most lines being asked for, but buyers are, still seeking concessions on late rates. The only business completed in this section was of Commercials and New Zealands, and in each case the holders had to accept reductions on last previous sales. Electrolytic Zinc has eased further, and both ordinaries and preference are on offer at £1 6/6. Mount Lyells have sellers at £1 12/8. interest Rates. The return to the investor on his outlay, based upon the latest dividends and in the case of loans and debentures upon redemption at maturity, works out as follows for the latest sales:— PER CENT PER ANNUM.
