APPOINTMENTS ANNOUNCED. COMMANDANT'S TERM EXTENDED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Governor-General has approved of the appointments, promotions, resignations and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the New Z'ealand Military Forces:— Major-General R. Young, Now Zealand Staff Corps, has been granted an extension of two years in his period of appointment as Commandant of the New Zealand Military Forces, with effect from December 7, 1929. Captain A. Le G. Campbell, Highland Light Infantry, on exchange from the British Army in India, having left New Zealand, relinquishes the appointment of adjutant of the Ist Battalion of thu Wellington Regiment. Captain L. W. Andrew, New Zealand Staff Corps, having returned from a .tour of exchange with the Britieh Array in India, ceases to be seconded, and is appointed adjutant of the Ist Battalion Wellington Regiment. Lieutenant A. H. L. Sugden, New Zealand Staff Corps, having returned from a tour of exchange with the British Army in India, ceases to be seconded, and is appointed area officer, Area lIA, Dunedin. Lieuteant E. Tinger, New Zealand Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of weapon-training officer, Northern Command, and is appointed area officer, Area IA, Auckland. Lieutenant J. E. Page, New Zealand Staff Corps, having completed his training at Sandhurst and his attachment to the Ist Battalion King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, has returned to New Zealand, and is appointed assistant area officer, Area SA, Wellington. Second-Lieutenant H. G. Wooller, New Zealand Staff Corps, having completed his training at Sandhurst and his attachment to the 2nd Battalion the Buffs Kent Regiment), has returned to " New Zealand, and is attached to Area SA, Wellington. Lieut.-Colonel H. C. Hemphill, North Auckland Mounted Rifles, relinquishes command of the regiment and is transferred to the reserve of officers.
