BOY DROWNED IN LAKE.
CAPSIZED WHEN IX CAXOE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) XAPIER, Thursday. Kenneth Fraser Hill, aped 10 years, was drowned this afternoon at Haumoana. Hill was invited by another hoy to take a canoe for a paddle on a lake. Hill did so. but was only a few yards from the shore when the craft capsized. A number of small boys on the bank ran for assistance, but by the time the body was recovered a few minutes later it was too late for efforts at rusiiscitation to succeed. This is the third fatality at Haumoana since the New Year. Hill's parents live in Wellington, his father being an engineer in the Public Works Department, but almost from infancy he had lived with his grandmother, Mrs. A. L. D. Fraser, in Hastings.
