NEW HOUSE BURNED.
FAMILY ATTENDING SHOW. BUSH FIRES IN VICINITY. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI this day. During the absence of Mr. H. Rogers and family, of Runaruna, at the Broadwood Show yesterday, their newlyerected eight-roomed residence, with contents, was destroyed. Tlio nearest neighhour, some distance away, noticed a large volume of smoke, and found it to he coming from Mr. Rogers' home. Bush lires arc in the vicinity, and it is presumed one of these caused the outbreak Nothing was saved. Mr. Rogers is a heavy loser. The building and contents were insured for £850.
