SUMMER TIME LAW.

WILL IT BE RENEWED?

MR. SIDEY EXPECTS A FIGHT. "ELECTIONS THIS YEAR." (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. Mr. T. K. Sidcy, M.P., thinks that the Summer Time Act has been a great boon to many people besides those who play games, and that it has also made a big contribution to the community's health. However, Mr. Sidey expects strong opposition in Parliament when he brings his I measure up for renewal next session.

"I am quite certain that some of the farmers will oppose it again," said Mr. Sidey, "and so will some of tliosg country members who supported it last session. Tliev will be influenced by the combined protests that have been made in their respective constituencies and by the fact that the elections take place this year. I am not in a position to forecast just what will happen to the bill during this coming session. At all events, I hope that many of the country people will recognise that tlieir employment enables them to get the benefit of the fresh air and that they will feel disposed to make a little concession in. the interests of those who are less favoured in this respect."

Mr. Sidev also thinks the Act coukl come into force a little earlier than it did, and recalls that a majority of the members of the House were in favour of its continuance until March 1.
