NELSON FAME GOES 2.7.
At noon yesterday, Xelson Fame, who is to make an attempt on Saturday after the second race, to reduce the mile record of 2.3 3-5 held by Acron, was given a trial by S. August. The son of Nelson Bingen—Norice looking well was given a light warming up and then with the pace on hit his speed at the mile pontile went the first half in 1.2 and came home the last in 1.5, making the time for the mile 2.7. It was a fine effort on the part of the bay horse, but it was not ; good enough to suggest he would gei down to Acron's record on Saturday.
