WANGANUI CLUB. AUTUMN CARNIVAL. STEWARDS' TO WAICULLUS. KING MART BREAKS MAIDEN STATUS. VICTORY HACK TO DISCOURSE. (Bj Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") WANGANUI, this day. The Wauganui Jockcv Club's autumn mooting opened in beautiful weather, and the track is in spiendid order after recent rain. There is a good attendance. Initial Favourite Scores. Seven went to the post for the Maiden. King Mart was favourite, carrying about £70 more than Thrift, with Double Mint next in request. Vexillium, King Mart, and Service were first to show cut from War Wings and Marica. Across the top King Mart was in charge from Vexillium, Thrift, Marica, and Service. King Mart was first into the straight, attended by Thrift, Service, War Wings, and Marica- King Mart went on to beat Service by three-quarters of a length, with" Thrift (who was having her first race) two lengths away. War Wings, Vexillium, Double Mint and Marica were next. Waicullus Pays Good Price. Paitonu and Glcngariff wcro scratching for the Stewards', leaving a field of nine. Lady Limond was warm favourite, being entrusted With £280 more than Tiega, with Ruanui next best backed, while Waicullus was at a good price. Civility, Rouex and Hi)>o led past the stands*, but along the back Kuanui had run to the front from Waicullus, Civility, Hipo, Lady Limond, Rouex, Ticga dnd Hallownoon. Crossing the top Ruanui and WaicGllus were still iiT command from Hipo, Civility and Lady Limond, who were bunched. Ruanui and Waicullus were first to turn for home from Lady Limond, Civility and Hipo. Waicullus stayed on long enough to beat Lady Limond by a neck, with Tiega half a neck away third. Ruanui, Civility, Damaris and Hipo followed.

A One-Dividend Field. The scratching of San Pedro and Mountain Bell in the West mere Hurdles reduced the field to five. Nucleus was a very warm .fancy, carrying twice as much as Kilburn, with Rose Pink next in demand. Elysianor and Nucleus led past the stands from 'Matau, Pink Rose and Kilburn. Along the back Nucleus and Elysianor were attended by Kilburn and Matau. Elysianor took charge before the top was reached, and had % break of half-a-dozen lengths on Nucleus and.Kilburn as they straightened up for home. Nucleus ptruck the last hurdle and was nearly down,.Elysianor going on to win- by two and a-half j lengths from Kilburn, who beat MaUu by two lengths. ' X ucleus was fourth.
