Our Sports Special. TROTS AT ALEXANDRA PARK. AUCKLAND GIRLS AS ATHLETES STT3*nV*£ER SPORTS IN FTJLL SWING. Despite unseasonable weather which has specialised in a series of wet week-ends, and as yet gives little promise of mending its ways, the summer sports season has got well into swing, and to-morrow afternoon there will be a full programme of sports of all kinds., of .which the results and special reports will appear in the "-Star" Sports Special, published at 8 p.m. Locally chief interest will attach to the first day's racing of the Otahuhu Trotting Club's meeting at Alexandra Park, but there will be trotting also at Nelson, and races at Levin. Senior cricket matches will be played at Eden Park, the Domain and North Shore; and at Carlaw Park there will be an athletic sports meeting held by a combined committee of girls' clubs. The annual shooting competition of the military area will be concluded at the Penrose range, while club and interclub events in tennis, rowing and bowling are listed for the afternoon. The day's programme is:—r RACING. Otahuhu Trots at Epsom; Trots at Nelson; Races at Levin. CRICKET. Eden v. Grafton and Ponsonby v. Y.M.C.A., at Eden Park; University v. Shore B at the Domain; Shore A v. Parnell at Devonport. ATHLETICS. Girls' Sports at Carlaw Park. RIFLE SHOOTING. Military Competition at Penrose LAWN TENNIS. Interclub Matches and Club Games, on all Courts. BOWLING. Club Games on all Greens. ROWING. Club Events at all Sheds. LEAGUE FOOTBALL. New Zealand Team Plays Batley Club. RUGBY FOOTBALL. Maori Team Plays BLackheath Club.
