RAILWAY DEVIATION.
INSPECTED BY DEPARTMENTAL ENGINEER. The agitation which has been engaging the attention of the Otahuhu Borough to have the proposed eastern railway outlet from the city continue through Otahuhu. instead of deviating to Westfield, was advanced a further step
yesterday when the Departmental engineer (Mr. Casey) inspected the proposed route with the Mayor (Mr. R. B. Todd) and Councillor H. J. Hall. Mr. Casey considered the proposal in all its details. In a statement .to the Council last evening the Mayor said that the impressions of the engineer were very encouraging to the Council for the attainment of their scheme.
