WORK BY THE BLIND.

CHANCE FOR PUBLIC INSPECTION. An opportunity for visiting the Jubilee Institute for the Blind, at Parnell, and for inspecting the efficient work, verging at times on the wonderful, done by persons who, despite the loss of their sight, have been trained to make unusual use of their remaining senses, will be afforded the public on Tuesday, when the annual meeting of the institute will be held. At the A. and P. Show exhibitions have been regularly made, and will be made again this year, of the craftsmanship of the blind people, and have aroused admiration, but in the institute itself people who attend the annual meeting will be able to see the blind folk actually at work, and to observe how they get enjoyment out of life by reading, singing and playing musical instruments of all kinds. The devices used for this useful education to minimise an affliction are wonderfully interesting, and a visit will give the public a personal interest in the home and its inmates which will be of mutual advantage. On April 16 the Gov-ernor-General, who has always taken a warm interest in the work done on behalf of those who have lost their sight by causes, accident or war service, will pay one of his regular visits of inspection to the institute.
