PONSONBY CRUISING CLUB I.II'TON AND HEWSOX CITS. Tbe Ponsonby Cruising Club will hold four races for sailing crati aud a launuh race to-morrow afternoon. The greatest interest will centre round the annual race for the handsome trophy presented to this club by Sir Thomas J. Lipton. which takes the ronn of a challenge race for the £Moot centreboard class. There are seven competitors for this year s race, ea.h boat being nominated hy one of the local clubs, whose colours she wil l - endeavour to carry to victory. Mane, representing the Akaraua Club, is the present holder of the cup, and dhe will again represent the Akarana Club. The race for the Hewsnn Cnp, presente* to the club as a memorial of their late treasurer. Mr. Arthur Heft-son, is for the Uft one-design class, a condition being that the skippers and crew be under "21 rears of age.

This race will start at 3 p.m.. the course being from starting line round mark off western tide deHe.-tor. thence round mart in Shoal Bay. thenie round mark below the n atihman to starting lit?, keeping outside fairway posts off Snelly Beach, twice round, keeping all rounding marks to port.
