SEIZURE OF OPIUM.
ARREST OF A CHINESE i P.y Telegraph--Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, this day. The local police to-day seized seven tins of opium. On arrival of the Auckland express tlie police searched the personal etl'ects of three Chinese passengers and discovered the opium in a bundle of soiled linen in a portmanteau said to belong to Wong din, an Auckland laundry man, travelling to Wellington. .lin was brought before the Court and remanded till Monday on £200 bail.
